Right from the time the baby is born, to lactation, immunization, paediatric emergency services and adolescent issues, we adopt a multidisciplinary approach to suit the interest of our little patients and provide the best treatment possible.
Our team comprises two paediatricians, a paediatric cardiologist and a paediatric surgeon along with dedicated paediatric nurses who are recognized for their exceptional and excellent services.
An average of 600 children receive consultations and treatment every month at Norvik Hospital
We have a dedicated Neonatal ICU to provide special care to critically ill new born
We offer vaccinations recommended by the Uganda National Expanded Programme on Immunization as well as many international vaccines
Services Offered
The unit provides preventive, curative and rehabilitative services for children and adolescents through outpatient and inpatient services which are as follows;
- Regular immunization recommended by UNEPI for children below 18 years and international vaccines as well.
- Management of infectious diseases, heart problems or congenital heart defects.
- Management of chronic paediatric conditions like Sickle cell disease, asthma and heart diseases.
- Management of sick, premature newborn and low birth weight children.
- Treatment of disorders of the endocrine glands.
- Surgical treatment of conditions such as intestinal obstruction, undescended testicles, umbilical hernias.
- Paediatric ENT and urology issues.
Technology
Our NICU is fully functional and equipped with the following;
- Phototherapy machines for treating neonatal jaundice.
- Incubators to ensure temperature of the infant is maintained at an optimal range.
- Pediatric monitors to monitor the vitals of a child.
- Resuscitator with radiant heat source to ensure warmth and clear airways for the child.
- Nasal C – PAP drivers to provide respiratory support for neonates with upper airway obstruction or respiratory failure.
- Infusion pumps to facilitate administration of medicines and nutrition.
